Re: Wonderful news about my cat!

That is good news. Waiting for test results is always a nail-biter!

My vet does not agree with giving cats a pain med just to make their quality of life more comfortable in their older age. He says it makes them more rambuctious because they feel better, until the pain med starts to wear off then they are in more pain because they played too hard. Makes sense.

He told me thats cats and cows have the highest pain tolerance of all animals, no kidding! I have a now 9 yr old male cat that has/had a broken elbow at 10 mo. old, it was unable to be set at the elbow joint so he has arthritis type symptoms too. I asked him about pain pills at one point not too long ago and he told me all the above.

Or what if it just knocks BooBoo out, not a good quality of life. Have you read into glucosamine/chondroiton for arthritis intervention for him? You might check that out before going the other route, see what you think, what his doc thinks.

I sure hope that if I come back in a next life, it's NOT as one of your animals...or one of your vet's patients.

Geez you are a grumpy thing Lorraine, I would certainly hope you wouldnt come back as one of my animals either, you wouldnt last around here very long...

I had to sign back in to thank you Feline Fine, I was being lazy! I see it comes in chew treats too, how about that. Smile

Aw, that's so nice of you, SeaGal. Thanks for your thanks. 8-)

I didn't know that Glyco-Flex comes in treats as well, which is good if your pet won't ingest it any other way, or is not overweight. Thanks for the info. Smile

Your welcome Feline Fine but I saw it in the photo!

I might check out that Cosequin that bikerbabe mentioned above, my guy looks like he suffers in the cold weather, not sure if it hurts him as much as it hurts me to see it tho, according to my vet.

I will see what his doc thinks.

Jeez, I must've had a brain f@rt, LOL. Duh! {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Nutramax's Cosequin is excellent also, and can just be sprinkled onto or into.

Here are two links with close to 1,000 great reviews!

Re: Wonderful news about my cat!

Wow, interesting, the Cosequin in the first link says it also aids in bladder health for kittys. Thats good to know for future reference.

I have to take my other guy into the vets to have some (7) staples removed from his inside thigh area tomorrow so I will talk to the doc about doseage on Cosequin or the like. My young guy must have got hooked up on a branch or something last week and produced a nice sized hole, unsuitable for reg. stitches. {#emotions_dlg.huh} He's feline fine tho!!

Thanks again Feline Fine Smile

Ahhh....very sweet of your kitty. And my BooBoo says, "Right back at ya!" to your BooBoo. What kind of a cat is your kitty?
