7 kids! OMG she should have stopped having kids. She didn't work because was living off the system. She was a stay at home money being paid to have kids. the least she could have done was be an active parent.
She probably couldn't afford birth control. This sounds like something out of Dickens, sending the poor to jail because they can't pay their debts.

I think so too. I don't know whether or not she could afford birth control. Maybe she's not very intelligent. Whatever, there has GOT to be a better way to address the truancy than putting people in jail.

adelle38, I was thinking of Dickens, too.
There's a new term now. The "debt penalty" for those who are jailed or imprisoned for not being able to afford to pay fines.
