do you just shut down for the weekend, and not check phone, email, etc. ?

Watching a video and this lady did that and it was very recharging for her and relaxing.  I don't as a rule, have that stress going on with me, but I wonder if others do?

Do you ever power down?

No, week-ends are just another day but with a whacked out TV schedule.  Sundays there's not even mail delivery to look forward to.  I'd just as soon skip them.

@Kachina624 - I agree with you totally.  I would rather skip weekends also.  I absolutely hate them. I have nothing to do.  Any errands I had are already done, tv schedule is weird, stuff isn't open.  Just not a fan of weekends.

Favorite day of the week for me is Monday.

I suppose if I were still working I'd want to do that.  But everything has been powered down for the past year+ and continues that way as far as I'm concerned.

Oh I am so glad to hear there are others that do not care for weekends.  I do not like them either.  Never have, even when I was working.  I preferred having days off during the week.

I think for me, it has to do with having structure.  Monday through Friday seemed more scheduled.

[ Edited ]

I'm looking forward to this weekend.

I've always loved weekends.

It's funny though, Friday night used to mean so much to us when we (husband, friends) were younger.

Now, on Friday night, I can be tired and ready to go to bed before nine o'clock and not loathe myself!

Re: With a weekend coming up..

I would love to just do nothing on the weekends.  They're usually spent trying to catch up to what I didn't finish during the week.

I try to make Sunday just a relaxing day, either taking a drive or going out to eat.  I rarely cook on the weekends either.

When I worked, I looked forward to quiet weekends. Now it's pretty much the same everyday.

Re: With a weekend coming up..

I still work full time, so weekends for me are a time to power down a bit, not totally though. I do not check emails, but I do still check my phone. I have two daughters, and three grandchildren, and an elderly mother so I need my phone on at all times.....Friday nights are usually my time to veg out, usually busy most sat and sundays!!!!

Looking forward to the end of the month for some much needed vacation days and down time!
