They are being hit especially hard by this latest atmospheric river to hit the state. It was rough here in Northern CA but is a lot worse in the south. Major flooding, mudslides and power outages. I hope our QVC friends and everyone there are weathering the storm OK.

Thanks.. I'm in Southern California and We are getting hammered with rain. 6 inches I believe so far. In my area, the local freeways tend to pool and we cant drive through them. Luckily I am able to stay home... I do have family near a mudslide area near Rancho Palos Verdes luckily they live on the opposite side of the mudslide. Another family member lives close by but about 1/2 block short of the area where the hillside came down... So Fingers crossed on that...

I was born and raised here in So Ca as was my husband. It's rained hard like this in the 1960's and the late 1950's. Yes, the weather people (not old enough to know) report this as a historical event. Many weather reporters aren't from this state to begin with.
Sure, things happened here in the past but folks took care of things. Power outages weren't so uncommon nor washed out roads and flooding.
We will get through this - just like the past.

@Puzzle Piece Glad that you and DH have successfully weathered the storms throughout the years. So have DH and I in our northern CA suburb. But many folks in the mountains and burned out areas have been hit with mudslides. Several people have already died. Another weaker storm passed through today which will make things worse for those in the harder hit areas.
