I live in ~~Jurassic Park~~ the boonies. Those purple trees grow wild here.

That tree was made for us purple lovers, it's breath taking when it's in bloom. When it's not in bloom, it's probably just a "boring" tree. I assume they have them in FL. I'd go out of my say to see them.

That is a beautiful tree; however, in my complex we have so many white flowered trees in bloom right now and some pink ones too. They also look beautiful. I love green trees. The large ones provide shade and all the different shades of green are beautiful.

They do grow everywhere, I'm in MA and there are a lot of magnolias in the older part of town. Part of Commonwealth Ave. in Boston is lined with magnolia trees. Gorgeous and fragrant when they are in bloom.

When we moved to CA, my folks bought a house with a tree like that that in the yard. Beautiful BUT, a very messy tree. My folks had it removed because of the mess.

OP - I disagree with you. I think Maples are beautiful trees and make a great shade tree. On the other hand Jacaranda trees are pretty when they bloom but the rest of the time they are very ordinary looking AND not a pretty , well shaped tree, like a maple, or a good shade tree.
