I put away or cover my outdoor furniture, cover my grill and then get on an airplane and go south for large chunks of winter. I’ll go back north for Christmas and a few other things, but then it’s back on the airplane to the beach again.

I think I need to do this ⛱

We are prepared for the most part. We had a generator installed that that comes on when the power goes off. Costly but we won’t be going to Florida this year or anywhere else. After the holidays I will be having surgery.

Re: Winter preparations, do you have any?

Hardly any prep here.   We don't have anywhere near as much winter (cold, snow, etc) as we used to, however.

About the only thing I have to do is change over the HVAC system.  Our system is such that it's either off, set on a/c, or set on heat.   So I go around the house and open some vents, close/block others, and then switch it over to 'heat'.

About the only part that's a pain is in the bird's bedroom.  I have to crawl under a desk so I can unblock and open (no easy task there!) the floor vent thingie for him because I keep it completely blocked and closed during a/c season.
