I still get a pedicure in the winter, though not as often.  However, I only have clear polish applied.  That way, I "know" by looking at me tootsies that I've given them a treat, but I don't have to worry about messing anything up.

Me too but no polish.   I figure they deserve a 'rest' in the winter, polish        wise.

Re: Winter is not the time for ...

I continue to get regular pedicures during the winter, but only do polish from April thru October.   I never, ever do paraffin with my pedicure.

Re: Winter is not the time for ...

My confession;I have never had a manicure or pedicure in my life except once my grandkids did one on me. lol.

I take care of my own feet by using that device Q sells and I put Philosophy whipped lotion on every day and I wear socks (year round) to bed. I have the softest feet in the world. The only time I wear "toe" nail polish is if I'm going to wear sandals. But I mostly live in slip on shoes or sneakers (unless dressing up to go to dinner, etc. then i wear sandals).

I used to bite my finger nails but stopped last year, but my nails rarely grow, when they do, they break. So I file them and paint my own finger nails too. lol.

I look at it this way I'm saving money and my feet and fingernails look fine to me.

Re: Winter is not the time for ...

I get a pedicure year round every 7-8 weeks (more often in summer). This is the time I like to play with unusual colors.  A few years ago I borrowed one of DD's bright blue colors. No one sees my feet right? I forgot about it until I was standing by the pool waiting to go in and the guy next to me was staring at my feet! I don't know what he was thinking, but he did smile!

My nail technicial always wraps my toes with plastic wrap when I'm done with the dryer before I put my socks and shoes or boots on.

I probably should go without polish at least once to give my toenails a break - I don't think they've had one in over 10 years since I started getting professional pedicures!  Smiley Wink

I don't do manis or pedis, I do my own nails. I polish my fingernails every Friday, so they look nice when we go out/visiting for the weekend. I polish my toenails year round. I like looking "put together" and having my toenails pretty makes me feel pretty. Woman Happy

@Shorty2you. You are so fortunate to have feet without issues. I can put heavy moisturizer and any new product that comes out but still get dry flaky skin if I don’t keep it up religiously. My eyes can’t do finer points of pedicure so I depend on professionals for that once in a while.

Re: Winter is not the time for ...

November thru February I get a pedicure once a month — just the regular pedi, with a no color or sometimes a neutral color nail polish.

March thru October I go every three weeks — and get the full massage from calf to toes, with the leg and feet clay mask and hot stones as well. Color is spontaneous.

If I need any touch ups on the heels in between visits any time in the year, I take care of that myself with the Emjoi.  I absolutely love my feet correct, and they are always smooth as silk.

I don't consider it a luxury.  It's me time, and I bring my book and relax...something we all need.

A basic pedicure, where I live, will cost 25-32.  Plus tip.
