This is March and March is still winter.  I think we listen to people in warmer climates talk about planting and 80 degree weather and walking on their balmy beaches and we start to think that March is spring month.  But it isn't for 75% of the country.  It snowed here in MA this morning and they predict a serious snow storm late Tuesday into Wednesday and it amuses me that people think this is unusual or that spring is late in coming.  I hear a news anchor here say that "winter just won't leave" and I laughed out loud.  Spring will come in late April or Early May when it always comes.

We went out today. It was the first day our Shop Rite had power. All the other stores in the shopping center are still without power. And Applebee's hasn't had power since Friday.

We are supposed to get more snow on Tuesday night and also more snow on Sunday.

The power company had tree trimming guys come around our neighborhood the past few weeks. Guess that helped us to have power.

I do think we pick it up from the weather people, who have to fill up their air time with seasonal climate and weather chatter, but also from signs in nature. Here in my part of PA tree buds, flower bulbs and birds returning suggested Spring prior to this last nor’easter. Of course I’m old enough to have seen this happen many times before. Have seen it snow up over a foot high in April more than once. I originally come from a farming family and community, so these memories of crop failures and such stick with me.

Still, I'm not looking forward to Quinn in the least. Hate it most of all for those emergency personnel who have to commute and assist in restoring utilities, as well as rescue others.

I hope all here who are in the path remain safe. 🙏

According to the calendar, the first day of spring is March 20.  However, here in Ohio we generally don't have much of a spring. We've had snow showers Memorial weekend around here.  LOL

We aren't supposed to get much of this latest winter storm and we didn't get much from WS Riley either.  They are calling for a wintry mix tomorrow morning and a max of 2" Tuesday night into Wednesday.

We're supposed to get up to 18" here - high winds, flooding, etc. I'm sure we'll lose power again. One of the roads near us is still closed from Riley. I put the down comforter back on the bed and we will cuddle up with the kitties!

We're getting rain here on the Cape but further inland is where the heavy snow is going to be.

My sister in Pennsylvania is expecting another foot and she still doesn't have power yet.
