Re: Windows 10 Just DON'T

[ Edited ]

It's nice of you to post this. I just wanted to say, I was told long ago (by someone who works on computers), this happens every time there is a new windows version. As in there are always issues at first. That is why I never bought/nor will I buy a computer with a new windows version until its out for a little while and they have fixes for the issues. Best of luck to you, I hope they help you out.

I agree with ID2...upgraded yesterday.  Although it took longer than I expected, I have had no problem.  I am still working my way around and seeing what is new, but all in all...I don't have any complaints...in fact, it's quite nice.  Cleaner, tighter look. Smiley Happy

Just thought I would mention for those updating to Windows 10...you may want to Google WiFi Sense, a feature in Windows 10 that when it is enabled, anyone you have in your Skype, Outlook or Hotmail contacts lists and any of your Facebook friends can be granted access to your Wi-Fi network as long as they're within range. I'm not the most technical and it may not be a big deal at all.  It can also be disabled.

These settings actually have to be set by the person when they upgrade to windows 10, so someone doesn't have to disable it unless they opt to change the setting from the default setting.  The default setting is the private setting and someone actually has to change the setting that the WiFi would be shared with your friends.  So when people download Windows 10, they don't have to worry about that unless they actually go in and change those settings so that it is shared.

I also upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday and have not any problems at all and in fact at this point I actually like Windows 10.  I hated Windows 8. One thing I really missed in Windows 8 was the start menu so I am thrilled that has been put back in for Windows 10.

I didn't lose anything in the process,  Google Chrome is still my search engine and Firefox is still my default browser.  Although I played a little with the Microsoft Edge this morning and I really like it so far.

I'm not very technical but seeing so many articles about this made me wonder. Thanks so much for clarifying.

I reserved Win 10, but did not upgrade yet.  Can I wait awhile before upgrading until more reviews come out?  Or, will I lose the free upgrade?

You (We) have until July 29, 2016 to upgrade free.

Hi @Himi lover In nutmeg's post I directed you to, I was trying to answer your question about how long the update is free. Smiley Happy

Ok. I see its 2016, not 2015.  I read it wrong. 😉
