I read an article today that some physchologist said it was due to people's lack of control over this virus.  Same as when the weather calls for storms or snow, people hoard TP to have some type of control over the situation.

Not my opinion, just this physchologist.

I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend, til death, your right to say it

All I can think of is we are going to need a lot of plumbers when all this TP is put to use in a short period of time!
