Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

No. My mother died in 1969, and we have only furry kids.

Happy Mothers Day for those that do.

We are having brunch at the clubhouse were my sister lives, she never was able to have children but she was like a second mom to my children.  My youngest daughter will fly in Sunday morning.  My sister lost her husband last October, her stepson will also join us.

My mom has been gone for 23 years, I haven't been good about visiting her grave I need to do better.

@spumoni99 Please don't feel guilty...my mom & mother-in-law have been gone for 14 years. They, along with my dad & father-in-law, are buried in the same cemetery. I visited twice a year for the first 3-4 years, then it started tapering off. I've been in the cemetery a few times for other funerals, but haven't really "visited", or even taken flowers in 9-10 years. I just don't feel like they are "there"--I know where all of them are, and it's wonderful to know I will see them again some day!

If you loved and enjoyed your mom while she was here with you, (and this is just my opinion) there is no real need to visit a grave.

Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

No. I had an awful mother so I felt that saying anything nice to/about her about being a good mother would be hypocritical. And since she died 20 years ago, the problem is gone.

I think she detested me from the day I was born, and I returned the feeling in spades.

Both our moms are gone, we have no human children, and the 13 cats don't cook. . . no celebration here.

Do you think your kitties would like the roast I destroyed?
