Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

My sons are coming over on Saturday and DH is making nachos.  We're going to rent the movie "Jesus Revolution" as we both enjoyed it so much and we'll watch it together.

My mom passed in April of 1996, so it's been quite awhile.

Yes!

DS flew home to "surprise" me (actually he did call because he wanted to make sure we weren't going anywhere!)! It's the first time he's been home for Mother's Day since he went so far away for college.

I'm so excited to spend time with him- even though right now he's out with friends from high school - LOL!

My family is taking me to a brunch buffet on the water after church. I can't wait!   Smiley Happy

Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

My Mom has been gone a long time.

Even though my kids are under orders not to spend their money on me they will give me flowers and cards.

I lost my love of holidays after working 8 years in a restaurant.  Mother's Day and New Years Eve were the absolute worst.

Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

We used to celebrate Mother's Day at my sister and brother-in-laws.  Lost my sweet Mom in the early nineties.  My sister continued the tradition till she passed in 2017.  She never had children, but I shared mine lovingly.  Then lost my wonderful husband in December 2017.  Since then my one daughter-in-law has hosted a luncheon.  This year a little different.  My youngest son coming Saturday to take me for lunch.  Mother's Day my oldest son and daughter-in-law are taking me to a brunch.  My daughter flys in from CT Tuesday and we are going to lunch to also celebrate her April birithday.  I have six grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters with two more babies on the way in November.  So far I received a call from one granddaughter and a beautiful card from one grandson and his wife.  I am very thankful for my family.

Re: Will You Celebrate Mother's Day?

I enjoyed my mother's day, gd & sons bdays when I went home for a visit last week.  It was 5 days of joy having my family together including my niece & family.

We all had a wonderful visit and I even got treated to the casino with my younger son & wife to Atlantic City and bingo with close friends!

So my mother's day will be full of memories of a great time.  To all here may you have a beautiful day💐

Unless my son comes over, probably not.

I lost my mom in 2009.

My mother is still living in her condo with full- time care. She is 96, has stage 4 cancer, is blind, and has dementia, so time and holidays mean little to her. However, I have a new shirt for her ( Quacker) and will take fresh flowers to her too.  I spend four- hour shifts several days a week with her.  Those times are precious, especially when she knows my name. So, yes, I will celebrate Mother's Day this year.
