I have read sooo many different accounts about who said what.  Will Packer is talking about it.  Everybody and their mother is talking about this.  I have come to terms that even bad publicity is beneficial and can aid one in reaping the rewards of monetary fulfillment even on bad publicity.  That's how it works in our country now @VanSleepy .

@gertrudecloset

It is refreshing to see someone who has analyzed this incident and come to the same conclusion as I have.

Just to recount: Chris Rock, Will Smith, Will Packer, Whoopi Goldberg and the entire Academy Board will benefit from this incident.

I stand by my original comments.

And ps..waiting to hear Will Smith is attending anger management classes to rehabilitate so fans will once again lovingly embrace.

What does that mean-resigning from the Academy ? If really remorseful -give back the Oscar.

Re: Will Smith Resigns From The Academy

The producer of the Oscars said on GMA that Chris Rock insisted that he did not want Will Smith removed that night. Producer asked Chris Rock about this directly and he said no he did not want that to happen

I wonder what "anyone else" means

Well, so much for it being "fake".

Why anyone ever thought Will & Chris would agree to "fake" violence is beyond me.

Because some people see conspiracies and hoaxes in everything. It's become an epidemic of sorts, very troubling.

In the grand scheme of everything going on in our world today, a slap at an awards show is the least important thing on my radar.

Let the Academy decide his punishment and be done with it, after 2 solid weeks of constant headlines about this, with everything else that's going on is mind boggling to me.

How many people of Ukraine have died now? We need to watch our own back with Russia.....

We can talk about more than one thing going on in the world. @KingstonsMom None of us has to be reminded about the war.

@KingstonsMom 2 weeks of constant headlines about what? The Oscars was 5 days ago.

@shoechic

1 week vs 2 weeks, BFD, I'm still sick of hearing about it ad nauseum, I just don't care. IMO only Chris, Will and the Academy should really care.

Too little; too late!.....and please, Will Smith, don't say "you are doing the work to make sure this does happen again" and don't even go near anything like "I am going to some kind of rehab." Gag! Super Gag! I hope I never see him again in a movie or on TV.....ever.

@Goldengate8361 Really, why? He might need anger management. I don't think going to therapy is ever a bad thing. Lots of people need therapy that don't get to go- if he needs it I hope he gets help. I don't wish any ill on him at all.

@manny2

Which I have every right to express my opinion, just like everyone else who posted on this thread.

If you don't like my opinion, then don't read my posts..... it's simple to skip right over them, LOL!

I feel exactly as you do and your post well said.  There are far more serious situations going on that concern me.  I will say no more.

Why open the thread to say that. It doesn't make sense. @spiderw
