However, the use of sliver-plated, fake gems/Dominique is a huge turn-off and then, yes, her prices are too high for junk/costume jewelry.
Since when is it silver plated. The piece I have of hers is.925 sterling. Her jewelry is NOT junk jewelry.

It may be sterling...but most of the stones now are either fake diamonique or inferior stones.
It's more "bridge" jewelry...not worth the inflated prices, IMO.

It depends on the situation. Jewelry will cost more PER piece if you go to a manufacturer and get the design as an exclusive (for your store/brand, area, country, no one else can have it at all), or you have it specially made in a different colorway. If you're designing it yourself from scratch, that can add to the price.
When I sold Chanel, I had a pair of costume earrings in my hand that were $700, but there weren't even 50 pairs in the world, and they'd gone down the runway at the couture show. The materials were technically cheap, but the manufacturing process to produce so few wasn't as cheap, and then there's the marketing/name. That's a whole different discussion. Those earrings would probably be somewhere around $2,000 today.
As a salesperson with experience, do you think the QVC Ripka pieces will go up in value, like Chanel?

Raincitygirl, you have one piece. She makes HUNDREDS if not thousands and they are not all of the same quality nor of the same material
Why do people think that because they own ONE item, that they know everything about a collection? Or that if their piece is perfection then everyone else's MUST be too?
Special Snowflake Syndrome abounds.

Her prices are ridiculous for the average QVC shopper. I think there are people buying her stuff who get caught up in the "Ripka Frenzy". I'm sure there are buyers who are maxing out their credit cards.....most people don't have that type of cash lying around for stuff they "want" as opposed to what they need.
I don't understand why people spend that kind of money on mass produced SS, with fake or simulated gemstones.
But......I feel that people are free to do whatever that want. Whatever blows your dress up!

I may have one piece only, but that doesn't mean I haven't seen other pieces in person. I have friends that have ordered them from the Q. I have also been to Ripka's store in Vegas where all the items have real diamonds and other gemstones. The workmanship there and the workmanship on those at the Q are both excellent. But hey, how dare I express an opinion on this board. I forgot that yours is the only one that has credence.
