ITA! Don't let them bother you. There are people like that everywhere. I try to be mindful of not posting snarky remarks but if someone puts words into my mouth, well game on. Lol

Remember that you can't control what others say, only how YOU react to it. I tell myself this all the time. 🙂

Yes!

Sometimes, that is the only thing that works when they do put words into our mouths, read things between the lines that are not there, make assumptions about us that aren't true.

Lots of bullies out there and the best thing to do is don't engage and just move on. I SURE miss the "ignore user" button we had on the old board!

A donnybrook over a cake--who would have thought of such a thing? If I thought it would cause such a ruckus I'd never have brought it up.

And that's just one example I can think of; I'm sure there are many other people who've got beaten up over something harnless.

Why? I don't know.

Most of the time I am not clever enough to discern when a 'baiting' post is part of a thread.  Since my lack of a political agenda disqualifies me from being an "us" or a "them", I usually just read and let it go.

I want to tune to discussions here-not one-sided diatribes or opinions. If you only listen to what you want to hear, you are wasting you time.

You might as well be talking to yourself.  You don't have to like or agree with it, but you might learn something.

Wow! This conversation is so on point!👍 I do not visit the forums as I once did for the very reason you mentioned. Even innocuous appearing headers can be deceptive, and the actual thread rife with vitriol. I am facing health challenges, and coming to the boards was once a source of great joy for me. I still find interesting, and pleasant threads to visit, but the appeal is just not as it once was for me.😊

It's a very valid observation, you've made,  @QVCkitty1 .  And a simple request for basic civility, regardless of the question or discussion, is always on point.

Personal attacks or withering condescension in response to good faith questions or comments, are always inappropriate.  And I've noticed over time, that the posters who draw attention to the bad behavior, have helped the situation.  It's my belief that the bullyiing by a few, lessens a little bit, with disapproving attention from other posters.

And although some continue to do so, fewer posters overall rush to defend and rationalize gratuitous rudeness.  So, you've done a good thing.
