antimicrobial hangers??? Joy Mongano is selling these now on HSN. Just seems rather unneccessary to me.  I have never felt my hangers were full of filth and bacteria. She seems rather overboard on this  germ "thing" with her products.... Just sayin....

@SeaMaiden I think due to the last couple years, everyone is jumping on the band wagon and making things "antimicrobial" and "antibacterial", etc. I can see your point but I guess, what can it hurt.

@SeaMaiden Since Joy returned to HSN she has been using that as a selling point.

I've heard her say it's to stop odor causing mold. Maybe hangers get moldy from hanging wet clothes on them?

Not sure. I've had her hangers for years and have never seen any mold.

@SeaMaiden    I wondered the same thing.  I noticed she's changed the name from Huggable to Joy Hangers.  Perhaps HSN owns the name Huggable and she can no longer use it so had to make her Joy Hangers slightly different?  Anyway its a silly feature.

I've never gotten mold, but I don't live in a tropical climate. I buy those moisture removers at the Tree and keep one in each closet. They are inexpensive, easy to use and good for humid weather. When the bottom is full of water, I just discard and replace them. They have them at Amazon too.

Sounds like she's a germaphobe.

I agree.  She's just making that whole mold thing up.  Probably to get people like me who love her hangers but stocked up when she and her hangers left HSN to buy new ones.  She invented a problem that doesn't exist.

@SeaMaiden  - sounds like the "clean beauty" trend that is a big marketing trend.  Everyone jumping on it, but the definition is different depending on the company.

And what types of chemicals are put on the hangers to make them antimicrobial?  Think I'll stick with regular hangers.
