I've noticed this as well.  I dislike it.  I understand speaking loudly at first to get attention.  To do it continually must hurt the throat.

It hurts my ears!!

I remember when that Sham Wow commercial first aired. That Guy was obnoxious in how he yelled talked . Then the Guy, Eric Theiss ,  with the first  air fryer & copper chef.

Thought , it would only happen in commercials . Now  many News channels , public speakers  , QVC Hosts , among other people who speak in public forums are all Yell Talking

Remember  the calm  voices of both Chet Huntley & David Brinkley .  Wish people could just  deliver information in a clear easily heard tone and tenor .

I also remember Huntley and Brinkley.  I find that David Muir, the anchor of ABC evening news, is easy on the ears.

Re: Why so many Yell Talkers

Commercials are always broadcast at a louder volume, but now that the actors in the commercials are yelling, I can't hit the mute button fast enough. The yell talkers may be trying to get attention, but it does the opposite.  Very off-putting.
