Why is there not a universal effort for containment?

If someone close to you is among the 5000 or so to go, how do you fel/

Last week we learned military personnel will be handling Ebola infected blood samples and now some experts say it’s inevitable some troops will contract the deadly disease.

....it is inevitable that some will get the disease. Not many, a few. There are precautions and protections in place that if followed, consistently and precisly, the troops will be safe. Realistically, we all know that there will be slip ups. People take chances, people are not perfect. It's unfortunate and scary but it will happen. The disease must be controlled in West Africa.

There is a reason. Things changed 4 years ago. Look it up.

Things changed 4 years ago? Is this some kind of conspiracy theory?

Yep, I'm aware but one has to wonder...is no other country afraid of this deadly disease coming to them and their families or loved ones (even important figures can get it) or is it only coming across the pond to us. I don't get it...and I welcome your enlightenment.

Ebola has also been transmitted in Spain from missionaries returning from Africa.

Britain has joined the team, they know it will be there eventually.

Some of us knew it would come here, also. Research should have been funded years ago, there are reports saying we would have a cure by now if funding had not been cut over the past recent years.

Is this what is being referred to as "changed 4 years ago"?

Re: Why is there not a universal effort for containment?

In the CDC thread I posted a LONG list of countries that are contributing to the efforts.
