Me too!!!  I am embarrassed to have so many posts under my belt, I must have more free time than I thought (especially in the summer)!  Is this my hobby???

I USED to post here for advise, or just discuss whatever the topic I chose......NOW I rarely post, because I get SO dang frustrated on here. Still can't find my prior posts. You have to "re-set" font size EVERY time coming here.

I STILL HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For fun.  I never start a post, but reply to the ones that I find interesting.

Sharing, joking, getting questions answered by someone who may have the experience of my question. There's a number of people on the boards, I enjoy hearing what they have to say. It's a pleasurable freeby. Nice to talk to others too.

You know, I have wondered about this many times.  Since the new format caused posters to lose their counts, I've seen many, many complaints about it.  "I had 9,999..."    So help me, if I had that many, I'd have to have a conversation with myself about my use of time.  I do not see it as a badge of honor.

I think I have caught on that QVC's ranking system ( Revered, Worshipped and Adored, whatever) is based on number of posts.   I would more appreciate and find useful ranks like Literate, Sensible, etc.

The thing I wonder about is why the boards in the first place?

What's in it for them to maintain the boards must be a monetary gain.

You have to have people babysitting people who just want to stir the pot, take issue with others and fill their lonely time.

I like to talk about soap operas main reason I'm here.

In brick and mortar retail, the longer you keep a customer in the store, the more likely you are to make a sale. Same thing here. Bring people together on your web site, and many will spend money. Especially when the various forums deal with the products you offer, and even the forums that don't.

The home forum sells a lot of things for Q because people get on and review the product they just purchased, and others jump on the bandwagon. Peopel share an excitement over a particular line and the more they participate, the more likely they are to make a purchase.

I know that by coming here, I have been directed to items that I'd never seen or searched for, but loved and bought. So the forums, even though an expense and a pain to Q in some ways, are selling a lot of product.

It's always about the bottom line.  QVC finds profit in sustaining the Forums, otherwise, they'd be long-gone.

Hmm, why do I post?  I started posting in the fashion area when there was a thread going about a particular show (Denim & Co, PM Style, etc).  At that time, there were clothing items I was actually interested in buying from the Q and it was nice to talk to other people who knew what QVC was and to get their opinions about items being presented.

When I first started posting, the response was lukewarm.  I didn't say anything ugly or sarcastic in my posts so I wondered if I was a dreaded thread killer.  (This is the first forum I've ever posted in by the way).

Understanding now some of the history of random posters who were instigators, I guess I can see why posters didn't throw open their arms to welcome me.

Let me correct that - House Cat (her name now) welcomed me

I then wandered over to Among Friends and got to know the Bird's Nest ladies and more recently the Back Fence ladies.

I've developed an affection for some of the posters and genuinely care about how they are doing.  I'm interested in their point of view.

That makes sense. I swear some of these folks must have blood clots and 'roids they're everywhere all day long. I knew a man who was an ham radio operator and he never got up off his buns and he developed blood clot and died.

I'm not going to lie - it's like an online soap opera here.   LOL
