If this has been asked and answered, I apologize, but I haven't found it discussed anywhere. When I sign in to look at my order status and then decide I would like to respond to a forum discussion, I have to sign in again. Am I missing something? Seems like unnecessary double work. ![]()

It happerns to me also, not every time, but often enough, and sometimes, three times I have to sign in, very annoying.

probably because when you sign in to place an order.......you're signing into QVC
when you're signing into the forums......you're signing into a thrid party, since the boards aren't managed by the Q but a third party...................raven

I've always had to sign in to each and I figured that it's because the forums and QVC ordering are two separate things.
But I've noticed since the new forum came into being that sometimes I don't have to sign in again if I'm already signed in the forums and want to check or place an order.

You've GOT to be kidding. You mean all this time we're putting down QVC for something on the forums that they bleeped or whatever, it isn't even them doing it???? Who's the third party? Why are they privy to our boards?

These are not "our" boards -- these are QVC's boards. QVC allows us to post here free of charge after agreeing to follow its rule and standards. QVC pay, at their own expense, a third part to run and moderate the boards, and there has never been any secret about this. I do not understand what the problem is or why people seem to be surprised or upset.

extra security measure, I would guess. Your order status is tied to your credit cards and the log in time for the forums is longer now. You don't want your kids or someone visiting to order a bunch of stuff on your dime!

Without getting too techy, you're essentially logging into two different locations.
The QVC shopping area is more directly connected to your shopping account, with personal and financial data. The Community area is less secure than the shopping area.
Both are owned and operated by QVC, the platform for the new forums is based on the Lithium web hosting services (just the tecnical "side" of the forums), and I believe I saw confirmation in another thread that the moderators are QVC employees.

But the previous board was another location as well. They turned off the universal login (which many places do offer - you just don't see it) when they upgraded or this chatboard doesn't recognize single sign on authentication.
They did this, as you stated and as I stated, due to the shopping account needing more security.
