Why do some people post what their "physical attributes" at the end of their posts?

Some posters will post on whatever topic they are commenting on and then follow up with ie. Blonde, fair, blue eyes etc. Are they looking for a date? Are they looking for a comment? What's with that? Do they think they're on facebook? Are we supposed to Visualize what they look like? Do we really care what they look like? I'm not talking about posting on the Beauty Banter- I can understand maybe doing some kind of discription if you're trying to compare or get advice but I've seen these "descriptions" on all the forums. Just seems weird to me.
