Why do people who don't like cats feel compelled to respond to a cat post?

Boggles my mind. Every time there is a post about cats, what to do about ferals, how many cats are too many, etc. those who don't like cats have to make their opinion heard. Sheer ego - as if they're saying "well I don't like them so I have to get my two cents in to annoy those cat people."
