Thanks for the replies. I think some people don't like to see Drs. and shake it off or they don't want to appear weak.

Well- he had to go to the Dr today because he got "stuck" at work and couldn't move and they called the medical team down to check him out. (Where he works has a complete medical team). So they basically told him to go.

I am not to really drive myself due to my spine issues and meds BUT I had to go get him in the other car and take him to Dr. (his job and our Dr aren't that far from our home). So we will try to pick his car up from his job later this weekend.

Anyway, he is on muscle relaxants and pain meds and to rest a few days. They said it seems to be a pulled muscle. And they made a follow up apt next week after the holiday wk end and if no better will order an MRI etc.

As far as orthotics, he buys the gel ones to put in his work boots. (Which I don't think help much b.c theyre not fitted for him).

Im NOT glad hes hurting but I was kind of glad work told him to get to a Dr. and so he more or less had no choice but to see the Dr.

I hope he will be OK now and that this doesn't keep happening. Id hate to see him have back problems like me. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

It's their natural arrogance, which women don't innately have. Plus, many were brought up to be "strong and silent'.

My dad would most likely have lived more than 48 years if he had gone to doctor(s) early enough.

My husband is a doctor and it's still difficult to get him to go when something is bothering him!

It's not just about doctors, males tend to be stubborn in general. I'm convinced it's something in that Y chromosome.
