I generally don't start new threads. Just not my thing. I will pull up an old topic, that I want to add to it, but not start a new thread. confusing?

For example...... I pulled up a 2 week Bachelor thread to remind others it's on tonight.       I did not need to start a new thread for this.

This is the preferred thing to do on most forums. Many have rules about it suggesting people search for a subject before starting a new thread. It makes sense to add to an older, informative thread rather than have many threads with limited or repetitive info.

I search for threads on a subject & add to them most of the time. I only start new ones when the subject is not found.

But if the thread is over a year old? Why not start a new one? What intrigues me is that an old thread will be brought up by a first time poster. ?????

@MaggieMack Oh man, some of the recent threads that are being revived are actually 3 or 4 years old! The oldest one I've seen yet it 5 years old- and I mean, it was 5 years since the LAST post on the thread. It is really ridiculous, especially when it is in regards to a question the person asked. Half the time the person who posted it isn't even an active forum users anymore or certainly by that time, they've resolved their issue or chosen a good moisturizer, lol.

Re: Why are so many old threads becoming recent?

I know one reason the old threads come back because I did it, once. I did not notice until I went back to see if anyone else had commented. Then I noticed that quite often when I click on  "forum listing" it takes me to something like page 151 or even 343. Of course I expected it to take me back to page 1 or whatever page I was looking at. This happens on my iPad whack is all I have been using lately. Since this came up, I have been checking dates more carefully.  Sorry.
