who knows, it's terribly unflattering to the host and can't help sales
even if they want to wear it unzipped the sleeves are always too tight, another clue on too small clothing

I heard a vendor say you have to decide what you are going to wear prior to the show. I guess they order all the vendor and models sizes from the storage or warehouse and that is what they wear. I have a feeling that they order their regular size and it just ran very small....I know with shoes I look at their feet and think why are they wearing shoes too big or too wide and I bet it is because they order them their size and it ran big or small.....THe hosts should tell you if it runs big or small etc. Mary Beth used to do that maybe she still does. I know when I worked in retail and a top ran small and I told the customer to get a large instead of a medium they would not even try it for the most part. If they had always worn a medium they were not buying a top that said large.

My guess the hosts leave it open becuase they all can say they wear an XXS.
Now, I don't have that problem because I wear an XXMedium..haha

First of all GILI clothing is always too tight....doesn't really matter what item they are showing.....but it is true...whenever QVC shows leather or denim or little jackets they always show them open and with a gap in the front of the chest and being unable to close comfortably....once i heard Mary Beth said she orders a certain size because she likes it to be open all the time.....i think the stylists think most women prefer it that way....i know i wouldn't.....

I totally agree, this has been my gripe for quite a while. Models and hosts seem to be very guilty of this. It seems to me that they just want to say they are wearing an xs size. Its especially noticeable on the models when they have on a button front blouse. They have "gaposis". AND then there is the too tight pants, wont even go there.

I had no interest in this TSV because I live in Florida so I had not looked at the video. However this post made me go look. OP - you are so right. Those jackets look ridiculous on those women. Not to even mention that peplum sticking straight out right at the hips. A huge miss in my opinion.

My guess would be that there are only a certain amount of items provided for the models use. They count on a certain model being there and order her size. Sometimes the items run too small..or large, or the model the item was ordered for is not there.
i don't think QVC has a closet full of every size available to them for the models's use.
And, as with everyone else, sometimes the item isn't flattering on the model's figure. We aren't all built alike.

I have noticed that all of the shopping channels do that and honestly, I can't figure out why. It's obvious that the hosts and models are wearing sweaters or blazers or jackets that are one or two sizes two small and because the two sides don't even cover their boobs....lol They couldn't close those jackets if someone paid them a million bucks....lol I don't see the beauty in that and I think for those of us who live in the real world and actually button or zip our clothes; it's probaby results in loss sales or women buying the wrong size and returning those items. There must be a reason for it since they all do it. It certainly doesn't make the clothes look better, doesn't make the host or model look better or smaller either.

@Katcat1 wrote:How ridiculous. The TSV faux-leather jacket on one model in the very light beige color is left open because it is too small for her. Who is in charge of the models? Whoever it is needs to get it together for presentations.
Yes, they squeeze them in to clothes either too small or sometimes even too big. SG's dusters come to mind. They look great on tall, slender models, but when they're on the petite gals, forget about it. They look like bathrobes. SG herself tends to do that. She usually says, "And I'm only 5' 4" and it's not too long on me." Well, yeah, it is.
