On 12/2/2014 jubilant said:Why we feel we have to be rude to people who don't think like we do is just so uncalled for. I think this way...you think that way. If each person who posts on something like this is doing it because they think they are helping people.....let them. We are all adults who can weigh the facts for ourselves.....and we will be the one living with our decisions. To each his own...I say. We are all biggie girls (and guys).....aren't we
.
Okay jubilant, I see your point. I've called out people for this same reason. I still think I was more or less right, but I could and should have worded it differently.

One thing I have noticed - several of the less-than-kind responses (including mine) have been removed. Interesting. That includes raven's response to me and my response back to her.

Contrary to what the OP seems to think, it appears that most of us (me included) do know that this is not something written by the OP (the website is there, after all), and I know it's from a doctor who "specializes" in alternative medicines, among other things, and has written books about all kinds of subjects. While it may be true about some of the things in a flu shot, I think the majority of people do not rely on this type of doctor... even he says (paraphrased), "before you do anything I say, check with a qualified medical expert"... does that mean he doesn't consider himself one?
I think the OP might have printed this article verbatim with no introduction just to see how many people would respond as if it were her own words. The OP seems to take pride in thinking that people don't realize what they're responding to, but I think most posters have responded to what is written, not who it's written by, and the majority disagree with it.

Wait until you do contract the flu and then come back here and share with the class.

That's a very good way of putting it, kittymom. It's reasonable and inoffensive and it's the direction I should have used.

I don't get a flu shot and never have. Not really sure why.
My best friend, her 2 young adult sons and her husband all got the shot earlier in the season. Her son while away at college came down with the flu and was nearly hospitalized for it. Unfortunately he came down with a strain not covered by the shot. That can happen.
If someone doesn't want to get the shot, don't get it. It's really that simple. No need to post misinformation about it though.

I've never gotten a flu shot, and I have no plans to get one in the near future.
I respect people's choice to get one, and I hope that people respect my choice not to get one.

Gee, poofed for questioning the OP identity.
