For the longest time, I only read the forums. It seemed to me at the time, this was a great way to make some friends, without having to put on a front. You could show as much or as little of yourself as you choose, without being dishonest. In other words, you don't have to make up stories to fit in, just be yourself to a level of personal comfort.

One day, I actually had the nerve to post on the Fashion Forum. Then after what seemed to be forever, someone finally welcomed me. The first day she noticed me, she said hello.

That someone was Thunderkitty. The only one who was nice to me, and actually acknowleged me. She really knows fashion, and I learned a lot about it from her and many others over time. I finally began to branch out and post on other boards, and liking them all. I've learned much over my time here, and hopefully, have made some friends as well as being a friend.
