Looking at the Q's coffee makers today, I saw one I liked and read the reviews. Then I went over to Amazon and they had the same coffee maker AND THE SAME REVIEWS!! I thought QVC was so picky making sure you actually bought the product from them before you reviewed it. One of these companies is, well, cheating? And which one was the first to publish the reviews. I am thinking both companies 'borrowed' the maker's reviews because they didn't have any reviews? tch, tch, tch.

@Judaline ...I have seen many reviews on QVC from people who had either not received the item yet or hadn't ordered it at all.  On Amazon you have to be a verified purchaser.

@Judaline.  No, you don't have to have bought the product.  We're seeing reviews now done by people who apparently were on tours of factory facilities and received "Gifts". They're supposed to say so and are submitted by the manufacturer.

I totally disregard them.

I was checking reviews of an EL product on the EL site.

I then went to Nordstrom to check reviews and they were the exact same --even in the same order.

@Judaline  I find the best place to find reviews of things like coffee makers is to google topics like "best coffee makers of 2023

" Many sites will come up. I read those sites and see which ones are mentioned over and over again that they will rate well (or not). Hopefully the one you are interested in will be mentioned.

It used to be that on HSN you couldn't write a review unless you purchased the product. QVC doesn't follow this at all as we all know people write reviews if they don't like the colors being shown or something lame like that. Other times it says the review was provided from the vendor website so not a QVC purchase. I ignore them and don't even read them as I don't felel like they should even be provided. I notice this is done with some of the TSV items.

Reviews are handled by third parties and have been shared for a long time. Not a big deal.

@Judaline Over the years there have been many, many, MANY complaints on these boards about QVC reviews on different products. Forget about the "this review was collected as part of a promotional program" reviews...there are reviews from people who've never purchased the product, but only want to complain about the host, the look, the price, the fabric content, the lack of pockets, the lack of certain colors, etc.

QVC has never been picky about it's reviews!

I do read reviews on some products I am going to buy or thinking of buying on any site.  But I take them with a huge grain of salt.

There are many reviews on Amazon for products that do not even match the product I am viewing, especially clothing.
