My mom has passed, so I need someone from her era to help me. It is my turn to host our dinner club, 10 couples that meet once a month. We try and do a theme party. I would like to do a 50's dinner party. Ladies would be required to come in Pearls and an apron. Men in cardigans, a tie, and a fedora. But I need suggestions for the menu. Every couple brings one thing, appetizer, salad, veggies, dessert, drinks, decorations etc. The host does the main course, but is responsible for telling each couple what to bring.

I was thinking of whiskey sours for the drinks, but that is all I have come up with. I need creative ideas, preferably of things that are not usually made today, but are still yummy.
