Re: Who's Looking Forward To 2022?

🙋‍♀️ I am!

We have many dates on or calendar already; short trips, many dates with friends and family, our daughter's wedding, etc.  We refuse to live in fear.

Have seen no evidence of an increase for 2022...just talk....will believe it when I see it in my bank account.

@Kachina624 I agree with you!  And with inflation and other things coming, I am not thinking it is going to be a cure for all ills--physical, emotional or financial.

However I am happy to be alive and with my husband.  So I look forward to tomorrow and am thankful for today!

@Sooner   I'm thinking when we picked an era in which to retire and spend our Golden Years, our timing was 'way off.

Re: Who's Looking Forward To 2022?

I know Medicare went up to 170 a month deduction from 148

The deductible went to 233 from 203.00

my supplement and Silverscript drug plan both went up too.

They don't pay s*** on drugs you have to pay out of pocket like over 4,000

before they pick up anything. Thank God, I guess, my little 2-3 prescriptions only run about 30 for 3 months supply.

Re: Who's Looking Forward To 2022?

@SeaMaiden  I know exactly what you mean. I worked for 37 years and retired in Feb. 2020. I had dreams of travel, making and selling my handmade sea glass

jewelry, painting and just enjoying time with family and friends. My 5 children are now 23 people and we have not gathered together for holidays and celebrations since Feb.2020.

What a shocking disappointment to experience all that has transpired for almost two years now. Those retirement dreams

are fading away as my health and physical limitations are making everything more difficult.

I do have hope that possibly things will get better, maybe this year. I would like to think that there is still a chance  to do

some of the things I planned to do, before I'm no longer physically able to.

On the upside, it is nice not to have to get up early every day for work and deal with all the stress of the workplace.

After seeing all the devistation  and loss that many have

endured, I am grateful that our family has not lost anyone to covid and we are all healthy and comfortable in our homes.

I'm just trying to live each day and be blessed to have my family, my Maine Coon cat Katie and time to relax and read my books. I'll pray that 2022 will be a better year.

@Kachina624 You are right about that!  I am glad we traveled while younger and didn't put it off until now!  I am happy we bought a house we love when we retired, and I am happy that we are delighted to still have one another and cherish each day.

There isn't much we need now to be happy, and life is quite and we are glad to have it that way.

Yes, indeed!  Every day is a day that the Lord has made!  Living in fear is certainly a terrible way to live.
