Lester Holt. He has a great voice and is already established at NBC. I know he does Dateline and the nightly news (I believe?). I noticed he made an appearance at the tree lighting ceremony last night and thought he had a good repoire with Savanah and Al. I immediately pictured seeing him in Matt Lauer's chair in the morning for some reason.

I stopped watching Today when Ann Curry was given one of the top roles.  She made me feel uncomfortable for some reason.  Trying too hard maybe.  Just not interesting either.  Sorry, Ann lovers.

@insomniac2  I'm not Reever but she has one of the top rated shows on cable TV.  It's on MSNBC Monday thru Friday at 9PM.

My pick would be Craig Melvin.  I think he's great.  He has a show on MSNBC, though, so not sure if they would consider that.

Although he does the weather in Wa. State I think Steve Poole is a wonderful person...great voice and smile.Very likeable personality.I would think his happy personality could be exactly what the show needs.

ETA: I didn't read any other posts before entering my selection.  Because I know Mr. Jones is a firebrand (but a bright and thoughtful one!), he might be deemed too extreme a choice.  I read NickNack's suggestion, and I would happily welcome Craig Melvin in that spot, too. 

He was a local news reporter on NBC in the D.C. area years ago, and I see him occasionally on NBC's evening news, and I like his style, temperament and voice.
