Re: Who is still working during this?

I am retired.  I know the delivery business is thriving.  Deliverying food, merchandise, etc.   I am sorry about your husband's job.  I thought the government is going to help people out?

Re: Who is still working during this?

I am in the construction sector and the east coast city that I work in has halted all construction indefinitely. I work primarily in Healthcare facilities and we all realize why those would be closed.  We have a lot of the biggest hospitals in the country not only treating those affected but working on the possible treatments/vaccinations. Construction is not a priority, but there are countless thousands of people now out of jobs in the matter of one week.  Many companies just eliminated their entire workforces, upwards of 800people each in one week after the edict was issued by the mayor.  Our company has started lay offs too, but not massive ones like many others.  Our company has a positive outlook that this is temporary and they are letting everyone that has been or will be let go to keep their cells, laptops and insurance.  They want to bring everyone back once we return to business as usual.  The rest of us have been working from home for a week, and will continue for the foreseeable future.  Honestly, the worst part is Not Knowing, anything.  Are you infected, is someone you know affected by the virus,  are you going to have a job, how long can the states or cities keep people home, what will happen to our economy, our unemployment benefits, etc, when will a remedy be available, it is so overwhelming and your mind goes berserk.  So I stay off the internet except to browse shopping sites and skip the news, and wish things were back to normal for everyone,  Stay safe everyone!
