Lucky me, I'm right in the bullseye!!! Washington, DC area where they are prediciting a storm of "historic" proportions!!!  We're prepared with food & wine.  My main concern, of course, is loosing electricity, I don't mind being stuck in the house put without electricity, yuck!  I've got flameless candles all over the house, my stove top is gas burners, so I'll be able to cook on it and I have a gas fireplace that I can also light manually, if I need too but it will really be miserable without electricity.   We can't control the weather, so let's just pray that every is safe when it's all over!

I live in N. VA & had to cancel my trip to Manhattan on Saturday.  FedExed my tickets to "Fiddler on the Roof" to DS who lives in NYC.  Disappointed but will go see it in April.  Stay safe & warm!!!!!

I am in N Michigan and was at a Natalie McMaster concert this fall and their backdrop was scenes of the island.

Live in the northern Shenandoah valley just a few miles from the West VA border near Winchester.   Expecting between 24-30 inches.  QVC is coming through for me though.  I ordered a pair of cute white waterproof boots on line Tuesday night and paid for upgraded delivery.  Got a e mail saying they will be delivered today!

We're in the Wash DC/Northern VA area---the  bulls-eye where cases of wine will be  needed to get through the weekend.

  Just got off the phone with the airline that I was scheduled to use on Saturday, to rebook my flight for next weekend.  No planes are going to be taking off on Saturday  from Reagan National Airport, nor Dulles, either. 

I'll be home, shoveling a very long driveway and sidewalk--and getting angry when the snow plow shows up on our street and plows up the turf in our yard.

If any of you are worried about being snowbound, idle,  and eating too much, you are welcome to report to my property for duty.  We'll happily lend you one of our six or seven shovels, and you can help us clear a path to the street.  Disclosure:  it's a bigger-than-average job.  No food will be available.

We always have itinerant people coming through the neighborhood after a storm, offering to shovel for a fee, but they usually show up too late, after we've already strained every muscle we have.

(I was supposed to be out of  town this weekend and meeting with a Realtor  to search for an easier place to live.)
