I won't say I hate them but will say I'm not ordering from them nearly as much since their delivery personnel stopped paying attention to delivery instructions and the company, despite their claims to want to be so very customer-centric, seem to have sanctioned them doing so. They ask you to state delivery preferences and then go on to say, essentially, but drivers might not follow them. So why ask for them? I also think Amazon has overextended some services so that what used to be reliable and easy to use no longer consistently is either. I understand staffing is a problem all over and supply chain issues are involved but my interest is in the level of service delivery, not the reasons why or why not. As far as I'm concerned, all this nonsense has gone on for too long. Oh, and incidentally, I live just outside Amazon's new east coast headquarters and my experience, and that of many, is not the stellar one so many here seem so smugly to like to report.

I'm no where near any Amazon warehouses or distribution centers and don't have Prime either, but my orders are delivered in 2-3 days at most....and that is my experience that I "so smugly like to report."

@KingstonsMom  And copious congratulations to you... Bouquets of roses to those who have great experiences, but those of us who don't share your good fortune do sometimes get a bit weary of being spoken to as if the problem is somehow ours... It isn't...

Maybe try a day in their shoes and work in the warehouse or as a driver.

Re: Who else hates Amazon since they started using their own delivery drivers?

Amazon delivered one of my rare orders, but I didn't notice what time of day.

That's odd they would start so late.

However, this company isn't the only kid on the block offering the same products I need.  As a Walmart Plus member, I get most of my orders the same or next day at competitive or lower prices. It isn't necessary I receive them so quickly.

While there are things I don't like about Walmart, I'm also open about my huge dislike of Amazon.  Does anyone think Amazon is not hurting QVC and HSN?  It is.

Shopping for me isn't only buying products, it's the CEO and corporate policies.  Besides not wanting employees losing their jobs, I wouldn't mind if it disappeared.

For those who don't know, Amazon is responsible for many businesses that went bankrupt because they keep expanding their product lines and target all income levels.

They know shoppers' weaknesses and use them to their advantage. One weakness is shoppers have become obsessed with speedy processing and shipping even though they don't need their orders that quickly.  Shoppers even know how far a warehouse is from their houses thinking they will get their orders in a few hours.

Other retailers unable to compete go out of business.  When that happened in the past, legislation often intervened to level the playing field.

Amazon isn't only about competition, it's about cutthroat competition.  They want to be top dog and will do ANYTHING to get there at the expense of all other retailers.

Some here are OK with that.  I'm not.

I have infinite empathy for the workers, but as a company, either make good on your commitments or don't make them.

Re: Who else hates Amazon since they started using their own delivery drivers?

I find Amazon website very confusing. Too much info on a page regarding different sources and different delivery dates. I can count one one hand how many times I've ordered from Amazon. It's not on my radar. As far as delivery drivers, in my neighborhood they are disrespectful, will drive on sidewalks, play their loud music and are completely annoying.

While I have seen some Amazon delivery drivers around, everything I have gotten from them lately has come USPS or maybe one of the big shipping companies.  I know my mail person sometimes does package deliveries and then does the mail delivery.  I noticed her in my heighborhoood earlier than her normal mail delivery time and she yelled to me that she was delivering packages and would be back later with the mail.

My mail carrier does the same thing, @Icegoddess . She makes separate deliveries at separate times for mail and packages.

One of the pleasures of my day is waving to my mail carrier if I happen to see her while I'm walking my dog.  accidentally seeing my mail person while walking my dog and waving.  [fixed the awkward grammar]

I look forward to the day I can give her a hug again. (We decided even masks aren't enough for our two individual situations.)

@KingstonsMom   Thank you for your comment.  I receive packages quickly and was happy to share my experience, no smugness intended.

I know, me neither.

I don't understand why that statement was even made, I find it insulting.

They most likely start their day much earlier than 10:00.   They probably have to load their own truck and get everything in order on the truck for the route they are driving.

I don't know anyone who works for Amazon but I do agree these are hard working people, just from seeing them in my neighborhood.  My brother and sister in law worked for the USPS for over 30 years.  My SIL was a mailperson and she was in charge of loading her own mail on her truck before getting on the road.

@LindaSal   Yes, they do.  My last package was sent from one state and arrived at the Amazon facility here at 4 a.m.

Although all my orders say delivery by 10 p.m., I've yet to have my packages delivered after 2 p.m.

I wish Amazon would take over deliverying for USPS. I raraly have issues with Amazon, however, seem to always have issues with missing packages with USPS.
