As kid's growing up in L.A., I have fond memories of my mom taking us all (5) on the bus (which was a real treat back in the day) and go downtown during the Christmas season.

 

Bullocks, May Co., and the Broadway had animated Christmas displays in their store windows with the fake snow, etc., we could stand and watch for hours it seemed, miss those wonderful days!

I remember KMart, Woolworth, Famous Barr (now Macy's here in Mo) Venture Stores. I shopped for clothes except at Woolworth

I loved Service Merchandise. We always pored through the catalogues. I still have a garnet ring and a tigers eye necklace from their that I received in the 70’s as Christmas Gifts.

Also, I remembered Fashion Bug, Troutman’s, Kaufma’s and Gimbles down in Pgh and when I lived in SoCal, I worked at The Broadway in Hollywood.
