Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

We are on standard time all year long.  I've grown so used to it I'm sure someday when we move back home it will be a "shock" to my system.

Time is just a drop in the bucket compared to eternity. It isn’t how long you live that matters; it is how well you are prepared to die. ~~Colonel Robert B. Thieme, Jr.

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

I guess I do.  There's more months on that time group.

When the weather gets bad, I don't care for it.

But no bugs.

Love to snuggle under the covers, warm and cozy feeling.

So happy I don't have to go out in the bad weather to work. So is he!!!!

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

I wish they would just leave the time alone.  It's not so much of an issue now that I've retired but when I worked it was.  I remember that I barely got home and it was dark.  I felt like it was dark when I got up and was going to work and then it was dark when I was going home!  Part - a big part - of why I disliked like the fall and winter months.  Dark, cold, and long.  No thanks -- just leave it as is.

[ Edited ]

Now that we are we retired we like it when "the night closes in". Didn't like it when we were working and had to drive home in the dark.

On another note Daddy was a city fireman and often commented, that in the winter, when he worked "night turn" that he would go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.

This is time of year when we start to get ready for winter in case we are snowed in and can't get out to the main road.

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

I wish we would go to Standard Time permanently and get rid of DST altogether.  It's called Standard Time because that's what is normal.

Don't forget that the DST people got their way back in the 70s and Congress had to change it back because it was so unpopular.

The one argument that the people who like DST have going for them is those heinous blinding LED headlights that are on new cars now.  I cannot believe how there aren't a lot more accidents now that every oncoming car

looks like they have their high beams shining right in your face.  That fact alone could eventually change my mind!

My dog thinks it's bedtime when it gets dark. He begs to go to my bed all evening.  By the time he gets used to staying up after dark, it's daylight savings time. LOL

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

With one time it's dark early at night.  With another it's dark longer in the morning.

There are just fewer hours of daylight as winter approaches, no matter what time humans observe.  And the farther north you live, the fewer daylight hours you have.

I love Standard time!  Can't wait for its return.  I like summer, but I'm ready for the change.  Actually, I wish it was standard time all year.

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

It doesn't affect me as we don't change times but I wish they would leave it as whatever it is now. I like that tv shows are on earlier, it gets dark (don't need more stinking sun in Arizona) and cooler earlier.
