I don't like it getting dark at 5:00.  Winter is depressing - dark, cold and dreary.   I don't find it cozy like some are saying.

Re: Who Is looking forward to Standard Time?

@Kitty Galore I like the fall and all of the holidays, food, decor, fall foliage, wearing fall clothing....I just don't like it to be dark out so early and I really don't like driving in the dark or at dusk when the deer are out running.

I was lucky I didn't hit that deer but the last few weeks I have seen a lot of dead ones along the side of the road.

Do you ladies take advantage of the You Tube channels that play animated scenes?  I LOVE them for a peaceful evening or background noise.  Some are nature sounds, smooth relaxing jazz, some are slow moving videos of beautiful and exotic locales with nature sounds, many with rain sounds.  You can bring any time of year or any destination to YOU.  All of these are animated but you can find drone videos of real landscape.

There is something for everyone.  Examples

Many many years ago my husband put a "deer whistle??" on my car.  The moving wind caused it to whistle and warn the deer.  I don't know if it worked but I never hit a deer Smiley Wink

@monicakm I had forgotten about those and I do wonder if they work.  I'm going to look into them again...Thanks!

We lived in the "country" for 15 years, and I can attest that they do indeed work.

Not me. Too depressing. Days are too long , never end. I like winter time for about 2 months, and I'm done. Both my husband and love it. It's hot here, we work late in yard when it cools.

I don't mind the cooler weather at all.  I just hate 13 hours of darkness.  If it were to stay light until 7-8pm, I would love it.
