We had mayoral and city council elections and I voted on the way home.  I think I was the only car in the lot and this was shortly before 7pm.  I asked the election folks, where are the candidates in the parking lot?  Either folks are really confident or apathetic, which is it?  I was voter 243 for the day - that's a pretty low number for my city.

@This sounds like you pay a municipal income tax for working within a city's limits, but since you don't reside in the city you do not get to vote there. You only get to vote where you reside.  Is that your scenario?

My husband and I vote at every election.  Hubby is very politically proud as he's the presiding judge at our location (although they've changed the name of his position recently - he is the over-seer to make certain everything goes as it should).

Our vote in OH didn't make a difference yesterday however on one main issue.

@Bird mama  Are you sure you weren't number 243 in your precinct, rather than for the entire city?

@PINKdogWOOD  I think your "one main issue" is the one that made national news?

In any event, I read today online that the legalize marijuana issue in Ohio went down by a two-to-one vote; a landslide against.   Whereas the day before the election, Foxnews reported it was too close to call!   I guess that was not the case......  Smiley Happy

@Pearlee  You got it Ms Pearley - the marijuana issue.  It was bombarded by many things against it including a few chosen like Nick Lachey and Oscar Robinson who wanted to make the proceeds all their's in their back pocket or under their matress.  They wanted to make themselves millionaires all over again to be the only growers in a handful of growing sites.  I'm not even sure where or how all that started but I will say I became very weary seeing their mugs on local tv touting their growing experience - oh wait, they have NO IDEA how to grow marijuana and what it takes to pruduce a good product.  Before any further posters chastize me because I think I do, because I certainly do not.

Another thing was the most ridiculous ads about lollipops and gmmy bears getting into to hands of our babies & children.  How utterly ridiculous this was too.  To create edibles as many growers may choose to do, is very much regulated as well.

Guaranteed, this will be on our 2016 ballot to pass but the language will be written very differently to make much better sense to all in Ohio in order to get this passed.  I believe it will pass next year.  Nick Lachey and Oscar Robinson will not be getting rich again either.

Thanx to all who voted, looks like some good choices were made. Especially in California, Ohio, and Kentucky.

It was an extremely poorly written proposal.  The news reported this morning that some in the legislation were going to reconsider the medical use portion. Most voters were in favor of use for medical reasons, the rest was just to line the pockets of a choosen few.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.
