Who Enjoyed Reading Aesop's Fables?

[ Edited ]

I loved these stories while growing up and read them to my kids as well. Many of them apply to every day life don't you think?

My favorite has always been The Fox and the Grapes.

My dad would read from the big book of Aesop's Fables when we were kids as bed time stories.  Thanks for the fond memories @JaneMarple.

@JaneMarple  I had a classroom station activity on Aesop's Fable for 6th graders.

In groups they would read them and them summarize what it taught; kiddos enjoyed this. Each group were given a different fable to read and discuss.

I've always been interested in Aesop.

@silkyk @JaneMarple Another favorite was The Hare in Sheep's Clothing..

Read them to my son 25 years later. He, in turn, read them to his son 30+ years later! They are great lessons and bedtime stories. Those books will be passed down to another generation, with all other childhood classics.

Yes as a youngster but I don’t remember any specific story. Another trip into the past.

@JaneMarple  What good memories you bring!

My favorite is The Monkey & the Cat
