I vaguely remember the party line.  I do remember our first phone was also a black wall phone.

 

I also remember the old "rabbit ears" antenna for the TV.

 

Also aluminum foil on the antenna but I'm not sure if we did that or I saw it at another person's house.

JUniper 5 4335.  I lived in Silver Spring and I remember it from about 1948 (may have been older as they bought our home in 1938).

I can remember Bishop 7 and that is all.  My mother put a lock on our phone because the bill was too high so I had to get permission to use it.

I remember Ipana toothpaste Brusha, Brusha, Brusha and Dippity Do, Prell shampoo and Breck Shampoo.  Lerner clothes store and Goldblatts.

However, I really miss Marshall Field & Co. on State St. in Chicago.  The best.  Seven restaurants. The 28 Shop was designers clothes for women.

Ahhh yes I remember it well.  My phone # was NU 2  For Nutley New Jersey.
