Does anyone remember when you could go in the 5 and 10 and buy those little baby turtles and they put them in a carton for you to take home?

 

They had birds and fish also.

 

After those I had to run to the Barbie aisle to see if any new clothes came in.

I do.  It was back in the days before the 7 digits - we had two letters (of a word) and 5 numbers.

Yes. I remember all. My phone exchange was HI for Hickory. Other phone was LE for Lehigh. Queens, New York.

As a sophomore in high school, my first part time job was as a cashier at the local Woolworth's 5 & 10 !!!  Good picture there !

 

I thought I died and went to heaven:  assigned the candy counter !   Almost got sick from sampling too much....but it cured the sweet tooth !
