@Lindsays Grandma  I remember Woolworth's on corner of Main Street, Flushing.  

Also, W.T. Grant. 5 and 10 Store. I worked in the fabric dept. until I got my teaching job.

Loved these glasses...especially when you put ice in and water ran down the outside. Smiley Happy  It was fun to play with at the table.


My girlfriend had these glasses and to this day I remember how the five kids in the family would fight over the purple.  Her mild mannered mother finally put the purple glass on the floor and stamped on it and threw it in the trash.  We were shocked!

My cousin and I had a business going making these.  She was four years older than me and she would be home making them and when done I would go door to door in the neighborhood selling them -- or trying to.  Pretty pathetic.

Anyone remember Kresge's 5 and 10 stores?   We had both that and a Woolworths at a local shopping center.

Yes I remember Woolworths, Kresges, Grants on Main Street Flushing NY.  I grew up there. Also, when I was very young there was Fisher Beer 5 and 10 also on Main St
