How scary and dangerous.  Bet you were so glad to be home safe and sound!  I am in CA, and have never had to drive, or be in a car during a white out.  However once in 1982 we were driving home from Reno with the kids, and hit a fog out  near Sacramento.  They are famous for fog on the freeways. .  For miles we drove 6 miles an hour.  We couldn't even see the back lights of the car in front of us., and traffic was backed up for miles.  They have ditches on side of roads. It was so scary, we couldn't even see 3/4 of the hood of the car!!  We wanted to pull over, but couldn't as we didn't want to go over side.  We did get up about 1 foot from car in front of us.  If he would have stopped, we would have plowed into  him....at least we were only going 6 MPH!

I can't imagine a snow storm where the snow is blowing at you, I would be afraid of stopping and getting covered with snow!

The reality of "oh how pretty it is" Where I live over 60 schools have been closed the last 2 days due to road conditions.

Glad you made it home safely. White knuckle drives in the snow are one of the worst.

@Shorty2U this is the type of weather that gives us grey hair (and worse). I'm so glad you and your dear hubby made it home safely!

Glad you made it!  White-out is the worst and I have been in it a number of times.  You can't check the weather because they can't always predict it.  You cant see the cars ahead well, road lines, signs, nothing.  I don't have any tips either.  Just drive at a crawl and pray!
