Re: Whisky that costs $650… per sip.

I'd try those. Just to say I did it.

I used to get a combination craving of salt/sweet when I studied for tests, long long ago. I should have known about those back then! {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

When I eat something sweet, I always need something salty ... to "kill" the taste.

I need something sweet to kill the salty. Good thing we aren't one person or we would weigh 400 pounds {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Whisky that costs $650… per sip.

The Glenlivet is not a popular Scotch in Scotland.

Macallan is usu. considered the best single malt (as opposed to blended) Scotch whisky from Scotland. On a special occasion, I was treated to a 20 year old Macallan last June--and it was worth whatever it cost.

Not everyone likes single malts, but for those that do, it is like wine. Some are very special. I don't know about a Glenlivet costing that much, though.

It's like hearing there is a $250 shot of Johnny Walker out there. Sure, it's good, but as a blended Scotch it's not full of character. The Glenlivet is good, too. But perhaps there is only one barrel that old, and that is why the cost is what it is. The Scotch fanatics are true fanatics.

I do like it, though only once in a while. Much nicer than brandy.
