@tends2dogs   Same here!  My sister would wash the dishes and I would dry them.  She was older than me and wouldn't rotate the chore.  I also had to mow the lawn.

Washing the dishes, pots, pans.  that was my chore every night until i left home.   

and hanging out clothes on the line. that was a pain. running out of clothespins. and there were always spiders dangling from the line. finally they got a clothes dryer.

Weeding-we had a huge brick patio-the last thing you'd want to say to my mother is 'I'm bored"---before ya know it you wouild be outside on the patio weeding.

Top of the list is dusting...I still hate it and try to avoid it. Ha! Next was ironing. My mother was one of those who even ironed the bed sheets. 😲

Mowing the lawn. Cleaning the pool (if there was one woodchip it was considered dirty). Weeding, edging, trimming bushes. I dug the ditches when my father wanted to play home plumber. Raking, shoveling snow, Washing the cars....

When my father got home from work he would "inspect" the results of the chore.

Going out in back, and picking up rotten apples.   Had to get them off the ground so mom wouldn't step on them, taking the laundry out back to hang on the line.  So nasty!!!

I grew up with just my mother and grandmother.  My Dad died when I was eight.  They were both so talented doing anything and everything.  I really did not have to do chores, except once in a while help with canning.  Like others had to learn household responsibilites when an adult.  I regret that I had no interest as a child to learn crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking, gardeing, canning and other valuable lessons of life.

I didnt have regular chores, but helped with everything, dishes, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, ironing.  I hated all of it.  I wanted to be with dad working on the car, but dad said girls dont do that, go help your mother.

Cooking - I couldn't stand it!

My Mum said that because I was a girl (I had all brothers) I would have to learn how to cook -

It wasn't until I got married that I wanted to cook and became a good one!
