I was talking to the person that gave the card to me and no problems with not keeping the gift card.

 

I found a solution! I contacted a different trading shop in our city. They will give me half the price of the gift card in cash AND donate the entire card to charity. My neighbor was happy with that as well as myself.

Hope I didn’t look ungrateful to some of the posters here. I really struggled with even telling the person that gave the generous gift as I didn’t want any bad feelings. I feel really good now that a charity will be given an extra gift also. My share will go to a relative that has fallen on hard times. That is what this post was really about.
