Honestly, I had not seen coverage of this incident. To compare it to what happened in Ferguson is ridiculous. Other than they were both young people, there IS no comparison. I do have questions about why she wasn't stopped before she got behind the wheel, why the officer was at the party vicinity when she came out, or if he stopped her later as she was driving and why he thought she was intoxicated, but if she aimed her car toward the officer, she clearly was armed, and not only did she try to harm him, but she could have harmed others out on the road. Alcohol and driving combined are lethal weapons. Did he need to pump four bullets through the car window? I don't know. I wish it had turned out differently since a 21 year old is gone forever.

Believing that any white (or somewhat white) person shooting a black person is always the fault of the white person is bigotry, friend.

It cuts both ways, lady.

Lines have been drawn and the problem is people don’t care about the facts when it comes to select topics, issues, subjects, incidents.., pick your poison.
2 of my business partners are African American and extremely well educated from top Universities in the country. Both are dems and they have very different opinions on Ferguson. Our younger partner jumped the gun like I see so many here do and found the officer guilty before all the facts were in. She was on FB and Twitter voicing her opinion. Her actions were based on pure emotion not facts or the legal system. But never did the younger partner think any of the partners including myself were bigots because we didn’t agree with her.
Let the legal system do its job.., unless you “DO NOT” think our legal system is capable of it. Stop finding people guilty before all the facts are in.

Of course there's a comparison. Both the girl and the guy were attempting to harm the officers.

I watched the dash cam video and it doesn't show much. It shows her pulling out of the driveway, the police officer approaching the car trying to stop her and you can tell she accelerated at the last second and that's really it.., until after the incident.

Okay, thanks. In the OP it says witnesses saw him jump onto the roof and open fire.

Witnesses might have seen him jump on the car.., I don't know.

The dash cam video only showed a front line vision and a slight peripheral view;that's where you can tell the car is starting to accelerate.

Adding: The article said hood and he shot through the driver window. If he could have jumped on the roof.., he missed his calling. The NBA. Smiley Wink

Police officers have to make quick decisions not only to save their lives but also the lives of others...it is a very dangerous job and I am sure that mistakes are made but if people are not involved in criminal activities the risks of being shot by police would be gone.Mistakes are made on the job everyday in all employment and people have died as a result but how can we prevent mistakes is something that is learned knowledge from each horrible incident.
