Re: Where/how do you dry the clothes you do not put in the dryer?

I have a stackable washer/dryer in a closet within the guest bathroom.  I run the spin cycle twice and then hang items on my drying rack from Amazon Basics.  Then if hanging on a hanger will do them some good I'll move them to one on the shower curtain rod after a few hours. Otherwise I give them a little shake and flip them on the drying rack.

If you don't have a shower curtain rod on a seldom-used bathtub, perhaps there's a place you can put up a tension rod, or you can check out the over-the-door closet rod by Whitmor  on Amazon and other places.

Re: Where/how do you dry the clothes you do not put in the dryer?

I have a drying rack in the laundry room for things that don't need to be hung up and the things that do, go in the guest bathroom on the shower curtain rod.   If I'm expecting company, I have to find room in my closet so they're out of sight.  I have so many clothes that are 100% cotton and they have to be hung to dry.

@Sue98

I dry the few clothes I wear, and also all the household things we use. Bath/hand and wash cloths/dishtowel/ cat/dog blankets, and on and on. I dry everything on our LG dryer on it's LOW DRY setting, and nothing of mine has ever shrunk. I mean other than 1st washed and dried  not pre-shrunk 100% cotton, that I know with shrink.

For my wife I took a piece of clothesline type rope/stretched across a pretty large space in our laundry room(where we do not walk), and nailed it tight on a ceiling stud. This part of our basement ceiling is not covered. She hangs lots of clothes there and I don't have to walk through a maze of clothes to get to our machines or utility sink. She is happy with it.

I put everything in the dryer, I just adjust the temp of the dryer. If it is extra good clothes I put the heat on low-medium heat. The only item I do not dry is my bras. This I hang on a hanger with a clothes pin, within 24 hours I can put my bra away.

Re: Where/how do you dry the clothes you do not put in the dryer?

I purchased a few sweaters this fall. Two of them were the same sweater in different colors.The online reviews of them were not good. One person said she washed her sweater on cold and hung it to dry. She said it stretched completely out of shape. Another person said she washed hers on warm/cold and dried on delicate/low. She said her sweater shrunk very badly and pilled. The directions on the sweater were "cold water wash; lay flat and block to dry." I did that on my new clothing rack, and they turned out perfect! Instructions are there for a reason. If you choose not to follow them, don't expect a good result.
