Re: Where To Buy Disposable Masks and Gloves

I ordered my first set of masks months ago from a company that was recommended on this forum. I already had some disposable ones. Sam's started selling cotton masks and the full face clear safety shields so I bought some. I don't remember where I saw or heard about food handlers clear disposable gloves. They are thin and useful for a lot of things. I keep some in the car for when I have to touch the nozzles to gas up my car.

@EatWell   I only wear a mask when I have to.  Walmart requies them.  No not everyone wears then but I would say 95% do.  I wear one when around people incase I am carrying it.  From what I understand you can have it and not have symptoms.

Re: Where To Buy Disposable Masks and Gloves

I haven't had to buy any lately as I stocked up.  I would check Walgreen and Walmart though.

I also agree with your question -- wearing them under the nose --- as this is definitely not the proper way to wear them!  It is according to the experts, pretty useless to do this and you might as well not bother!

I also see people wearing cloth masks which do not fit them well at all and they just fall down and they are constantly tugging at them, which is also pretty useless.

I saw on a report recently that the best and safest kind of mask are ones which have the metal nose clip.  They also said the plastic face shields are not very effective either.  Unless you wear the plastic face shield with the face mask.

I buy 50 packs from Amazon.  They are by ECOGUARD.  3 ply with nose form.

More importantly, they are made in the USA.

They are 30.99 (w/the $5 coupon at checkout).

You'll have them by tomorrow!

Gloves I find at the grocery store and the pharmacy.  I also wear them when I go out.

When you go into best buy and office depot they give them away

FREE  ! why pay for something you just wear into a place and take off when you leave?

Re: Where To Buy Disposable Masks and Gloves

I have been getting both at Costco.  Sometimes the gloves are not available but masks most of the time.

"I just want to sneak this in, why do people wear their masks like a chin strap or if they wear it on their face their nose is exposed?"

Answer:  Because they're either ignorant or lazy.

@Deree  Some people don't want to wear them and they only put them on because they have to.  Some people like myself have Asthma and can't breathe.  I have no choice but to pull it down.  If no one is around me it really don't matter.  I keep my distance.

@BalletBabe   No need to explain -- I understand people have medical conditions.  I'm talking about the ignorant people who seriously do not understand that covering their mouth does not protect them or others.  It's hard to believe but somehow they don't know that respiratory droplets come out of their noses.  The lazy people are those who wear their masks as a chin guard "just in case" they're forced to pull it up. Those are the folks who don't care about anyone else.  At least in my area these are mostly younger "adults".

WOW....you can tell a person's medical conditions by just looking at them.  Hope you use that power for good.

Like I said most of the people in my area who either refuse to wear masks or hang them on their chins are young people.  I highly doubt they all have medical conditions that hinder their breathing.  They look pretty vigorous to me. Smiley Wink

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.
