The New York Post mentioned he was living "under" his parent's flower bed (in a bunker)! A drone captured a photo of his hand sticking out thru the soil.

They may or not have evidence, but because of the overwhelming interest in the case and so many convinced he killed her, they don't have a choice. The problem is that there were so many transient people in that area, any one of which could be the killer, that unless they have reliable evidence, he shouldn't be convicted.

@occasionalrain
Well, the story of Natalee Holloway Disappearance . To this day no one actually knows what happened to her but her prime suspect in 2005 was Joran Van Der Sloot who is behind bars in Lima, Peru for killing Stephany Ramiez in 2010.
So once a killer than a tendancy to do so again may occur .... and maybe justice will prevail

There was a statement today that the young woman died of strangulation.

He took her van, he took her debit card and left her in the wilderness. Just how was she supose to survive? And then some random person came upon her and strangled her? Sure.
If they find him there is enough circumstancial evidence to charge him with her death. Even if he did not kill her and this is a stretch he is a complete subhuman and may he spend the rest of his days looking over his shoulder.

@occasionalrain Reasonable evidence is what it would take to convict him. What a reasonable person would conclude.

Reasonable evidence might be enough in a civil trial, like a law suit against someone.
To convict him, the prosecuition has to prove he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. If there isn't sufficient evidence to prove it, then he should be found not guilty.

Just catching up on the News. Poor Gabby. As @golding76 said, stragulation is personal.
"IF" Brian did in fact kill her, we don't know for sure and innocent until proven/found guilty, Gabby had to see his face killing her. OMG. What a horrible ending to a young and vibrant life.
It takes strength to break the hyoid bone in the throat and TIME. Stagulation isn't quick. What a nightmare. I hope that she fought like a wildcat and upon autopsy , the DNA that has been said was collected, is his skin under her finger nails.
It was also mentioned that she was "throttled". To me, throttled is like shaking her like a ragdoll. I wonder if her brain on autopsy, showed trauma. Like shaking an infant to death, the brain shows that trauma.
RIP Gabby

Throttling has nothing to do with shaking. You can find information about it online.
